Ales on Rails

Dec 31, 2020 info@gadgetgrrl.com Nearby Attractions, Outdoor Activities, Sedona Living Comment 0

Ales on Rails is an annual party that is often held at the Verde Canyon Railroad depot. Featuring rides, drinks, and other exciting activities, this party has always been regarded as Arizona’s watered-down version of Germany’s Oktoberfest. This is because of the tons of similarities that Ales on Rails has when compared to the German festival.

Various activities for party lovers

Running from September 17 to October 31, Ales on Rails has a southwestern style that makes it the perfect party for most adults. Notably, the whole event lasts for 6 fun-filled hours. Although the train ride starts at 1:00 pm, the party itself would have begun at 11:00 am. With this, everyone has a chance to have a taste of their favorite beers at this Oktoberfest-inspired party. The well-maintained train plies the beautiful Verde Canyon Railroad and guarantees your comfort throughout the trip.

Of course, the party does not stop even after boarding the train. You can get different kinds of customized brews while the train moves to its destination. Canned craft beers will also be available on the train. Don’t get drunk as you get lost in the merriment that comes with Ales on Rails.

Different types of Spirits for everyone

Various local brewers are usually parts of the Ales on Rails every year. They provide locally made beers from different areas of Arizona and give everyone something to drink. Some of the brewers that often participate in the occasion include Wild Tonic (Cottonwood), Huss Brewing (Tempe), Uncle Bear’s Brewery (Gilbert), Grand Canyon Brewing Co. (Williams), College Street Brewhouse (Lake Havasu City), and Smelter Town Brewery (Clarkdale). Each brewer offers two or more beers for people to take.

As you drink on the patio and train, don’t forget to enjoy the views of beautiful wildflowers that often decorate the areas around the Verde Canyon. Check out the unsullied terrains, red cliffs, soaring eagles, Verde River weaves, etc. as the train ride goes on. Share happy moments with real individuals and real rails. Without a doubt, the experience is going to last you for a long while.

Taking part in the party

To take part in the party, you need to get a ticket, which can be purchased at the event. At the edition of this event, the first ticket cost only $110 and covered a first-class train ride, four 3 oz. beer and logo beer glass tastings. Those that bought the second ticket for $122 got everything the first ticket covered as well as lunch. All beer tastings took place on the patio. Tickets for the coming years are bound to be similar to the previous one.

However, for party lovers that prefer just going to the venue and drinking up without queuing for tickets, the tickets can be pre-purchased. Once you have the ticket, you can enjoy the luncheon, beer tasking as well as a souvenir pint glass.

Conclusively, don’t miss out on the adventures and fun that come with Ales on Rails. Start preparing for the next event now.
