The holiday season is when families spend the most time together. What better way to enjoy the chilly December days than to go to fun family places? Luckily, Sedona and nearby places offer some of the best snow resorts and family fun activities.
Arizona Snowbowl
As a Sedona real estate agent, I would highly recommend Arizona Snowbowl. It is one of the oldest ski centers in the US. Opened in 1938, it has been accommodating ski lovers from all around the world. Since this area isn’t naturally gifted with very snowy winters, Arizona Snowbowl have developed an alternative.
Suitable of all levels, there are five lifts in Arizona Snowbowl that service 32 runs. Moreover, 37% of the ski lines are considered beginner friendly. 42% of the lines are for intermediate level skiers whereas 21% are labeled black which means they are for experts.
Flagstaff Nordic Center
Another suggestion during the winter months is the Flagstaff Nordic Center. With 25 miles of trails. Aspen embellishments and Ponderosa pine stands line all the trails. All the lines have special names as well. They are named after Arizona’s historic figures or special geographical places. This place provides cross-country skiing. The unique feature of Flagstaff Nordic Center is that it is an environment friendly area. This place uses solar energy to produce their own power. They have made sure that the center is as green and clean as possible. You can ski, learn to ski, munch on snacks, eat at the restaurant, and have a great time for families or retirees.
Kachina Peak Wilderness
And finally for those of you who like a challenge you might like Kachina Peak Wilderness, it’s a great location for all-terrain skiers. There are no chairlifts so you have to climb the slopes on your own. Make sure you pack your climbing gear and take plenty of high octane snacks because you’ll need them. You will need to get permits from the Flagstaff Ranger District office or Agassiz Lodge in order to enter the vicinity.
Allow me to help you find great places to ski and have a good time while you search Northern Arizona for the home of your dreams.
