Blog: 5 Things to Do Around Sedona that Celebrate Fall!

Sep 28, 2021 info@gadgetgrrl.com Outdoor Activities, Sedona Living Comment 10

As the temperature starts becoming cool and leaves start falling off, you can tell that fall is here again in Sedona. Of course, such a memorable moment should be celebrated in a simple yet enjoyable way. Fortunately, you can do many things in Sedona to appreciate fall.

Here are 5 things you can do around Sedona to celebrate fall:

  1. Hiking the red rocks

Sedona is blessed with uncountable red rocks. Take the time to hike these rocks during fall. With the availability of different trails around the area, you can rest assured that you can never struggle with getting a hiking trail that suits your ability.

If you want to keep your hiking short, you may want to consider Red Rock State Park. However, Red Rock Ranger District Visitor Center and other places also offer you similar opportunities for hiking. Consider getting a trail map before starting the journey alone or with others.

  1. Riding on the Verde Canyon Railroad

The legendary Verde Canyon Railroad takes off from Clarkdale and moves you through a plethora of streams, rivers, canyons, red rocks, and other amazing structures. This ride is perfect for sightseeing during fall as everything remains clear and aesthetic. Make sure you get a good view of these attractions as you may not get a chance to see them elsewhere.

Notably, this train ride covers 40 miles and usually lasts for around 4 hours. You can refresh your energy by buying some snacks on the train. Otherwise, join one of the special event rides for a more fulfilling experience.

  1. Wine tasting in the Verde Valley

Is there a better way to celebrate fall in a city with orchard history than tasting some wines? Take a trip to the places along the Verde River to check out the Verde Valley Wine Region. The area comprises lots of wineries and tasting rooms. As the vine owners are celebrating their awesome yields, you should have a taste of wine available.

Cottonwood, which is close to Sedona, is another place you may want to visit for wine tasting as you celebrate fall.

  1. Checking out the ancient ruins

Ancient ruins are the perfect exhibits for people that want to learn more about the things that happened hundreds of years ago in Sedona. So, you can take advantage of fall to explore these ruins and visit places like Montezuma’s Castle National Monument, Honanki Heritage Site, and Palatki Heritage Site.

Come with your camera to take some stunning pictures of what is left of various magnificent ancient edifices.

  1. Riding around the city

Last but not least, you can use this fall to enjoy a guided tour around Sedona. Southwest Outside Adventures, Pink Jeep Tours, and several other packages are available for anyone that want a guided tour of the city. With the guided tour, you can explore the ancient ruins, Montezuma’s Well, Tuzigoot, red rocks, Broken Arrow, and lots more.

So, which of these things would you like to do in Sedona to celebrate fall?
