Get to know Sedona

Situated within the red rock country of Arizona, approximately two hours north of Phoenix, is where you will find Sedona. A city that was created back in 1902 and was fully incorporated in 1988, the city’s name was derived from Sedona Schnebly, the wife of Theodore Schnebly. Surrounded by the Coconino National Forest (1.8 million acres) the city has been named the U.S top spot when a census was done by USA Weekend for the most beautiful places in America. The area has a relatively calm temperature which is more reason it is a getaway location during periods of Arizona’s warm winter months. Known as a small red rock town, there are unique views of sweeping red rocks reflecting the evening light, a perfect place for photographers who appreciates southwestern life.

Though the beautiful red rocks and incredible views offer a wide range of activities starting from spiritual pursuits to several mountain biking trails and hiking, the city is known to overlap the country line connecting the counties of Coconino and Yavapai along the northern Verde Valley region of Arizona. Many people think the small peaceful town in northern Arizona of to have mystical energy which is known by the locals as the “vortexes”. Though a mystical myth, the small town is a destination location of a large number of tourists year-round with the presence of its resorts, art and culture, sunshine and four delightfully mild seasons along with panoramic scenes surrounded by unique red rocks.

Sedona’s main highway, 89A that runs through Oak Creek Canyon was the first designated scenic highway in Arizona which has been voted among the most beautiful drives in the U.S. Most people fall in love whether they came for a getaway or to make it their home with the delicious cuisine, beautiful views, amazing night sky, cute little shops and restaurants and natural wildlife.

If you get “Red Rock” fever, and desire to live in this area you’ll be pleasantly surprised by our lower property taxes compared to many other states.  Whether you are looking to purchase a GREEN energy home or an older Adobe,  Diana Stoneberg will be happy to help you find your perfect place.
