Established in 1894, Lowell Observatory is known as one of the oldest and most popular observatories in the United States. It is located at the top of Mars Hill Mesa in Flagstaff, Arizona. At the moment, this observatory is regarded as a research facility that is often used for various top-notch discoveries. What you should do at Lowell Observatory Flagstaff

If you have plans to visit Lowell Observatory, you should understand that there are loads of things you should consider doing. Start your tour with the Giovale Open Deck Observatory, which is a public observing plaza. This plaza has six different sophisticated telescopes that are used for seeing an array of celestial life. This particular part of the observatory ensures that you have an ideal experience of the whole place.

While still at Lowell Observatory, don’t miss out on the chance to take a stroll through the Clark Telescope. Built in 1896, the Clark Telescope is known as the oldest building in this attraction. Check out the Clark Telescope and get immersed in its magic. There are tons of historical artifacts and buildings in this attraction that you should also tour.

You should consider attending the Canals of Mars, which is a nice program that is designed for discussing Mars as well as the uniqueness of the planet Earth. In addition, the Stars and Galaxies program will let you know how Lowell has assisted in the discoveries of the universe.

If you are coming with kids, then you should consider taking part in the children’s program within this site. There is a fantastic children’s area that offers several programs that the little ones will enjoy.

When to visit Lowell Observatory

It should be noted that Lowell Observatory opens all year-round. From Monday to Saturday, this attraction can be visited from 10 am to 10 pm. However, it opens from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday but the gate visit is discounted. Notably, children and seniors pay less than adults. Even for kids under the age of 5, admission is completely free.  If you buy a membership there are many stargazing events throughout the year you can enjoy with your family.
